The growing population of Baby Boomers entering retirement represents excellent opportunity for agents and financial planners. But these opportunities also bring challenges. Agents are cautioned about serving in an advisory capacity without proper training. The ever-increasing number of financial products and concerns over suitability of sales requires that agents maintain continuous, ongoing training.

This course is developed to serve as an introduction to financial planning for insurance agents. While this can serve as a “refresher” course for many agents who are experienced in financial planning, it serves as an excellent overview of the many factors to be weighed by agents who may be considering broadening their practices to the area of financial planning.

• List and describe the different types of Advance Directives.
• Identify the ethical issues that may confront someone who does a financial plan for an elderly person.
